O’Donnell Protects Dedicated Funds

House Minority Leader Tony O’Donnell has co-sponsored a bill to protect dedicated trust funds like the Transportation Trust Fund from being transferred to cover excess spending in other areas. House Bill 23, the Dedicated State Funds Protection Act, will protect the revenue raised by the dramatic tax and fee hikes approved last year from being diverted to undisciplined spending.

The bill is so thoughtful it has the strong bi-partisan support of 20 delegates who are joining Tony in co-sponsoring this billRep. Hoyer doesn’t want to even try to work in a bi-partisan manner; 98% of his co-sponsors are partisans. Two thirds of his bills are completely partisan. Maryland deserves a representative that knows how to work across the aisle and get bi-partisan support all the time. Maryland deserves Tony O’Donnell.
